Sponsorship Committee

As a member of the Sponsorship Committee, you will be responsible for soliciting potential sponsors of SAU Dance Marathon and following through with responsibilities associated with communicating with and servicing the current sponsors of SAUDM. You will also work to maintain and develop professional relationships with Dance Marathon Sponsors and play a role in ensuring that all sponsors are receiving adequate stewardship. Committee members are expected to have a strong motivation and work ethic, as well as a passion for Dance Marathon and confidence in public speaking [both with sponsors and peers].

The committee also requires a flexible time commitment, widely varying depending on sponsor availability. You will be expected to visit and meet with sponsors during their normal business hours. As a committee member, you will also attend a minimum of one Sponsorship Committee meeting per week as well as All-Committee meetings whenever scheduled. As a committee member, you are accepting a leadership position in the Dance Marathon organization and are expected to hold yourself accountable for your actions in every aspect of your life, in such a way that is consistent with the mission and values of DM.

As the Sponsorship Chair, you will be responsible for assisting the Sponsorship Director as needed, aiding in the management of the Sponsorship Committee development and involvement, and maintaining and developing professional relationships with all current and potential sponsors of SAU Dance Marathon. You will also play a role in ensuring that all sponsors are receiving adequate stewardship. Tasks include but are not limited to tracking businesses that have been approached for sponsorships, following up with committee members on the status of sponsorships, and answering questions from potential sponsors, as well as assisting the Sponsorship Director with any tasks deemed necessary.

The Sponsorship Chair position requires a strong motivation and work ethic, as well as a passion for Dance Marathon and confidence in public speaking- both with potential sponsors and your peers. The position also requires a flexible time commitment, widely varying depending on sponsor availability. You will be expected to go out and meet with potential sponsors during their normal business hours. As the Sponsorship Chair, you will be required to be at a minimum of one Sponsorship Committee Meeting per week, as well as All-Committee meetings when scheduled. The overall time commitment will range from 2-10+ hours each week. As the Sponsorship chair, you are accepting a leadership role in the SAU DM Organization and will be held accountable for your actions in every area of your life.
